International Film Industry Masters Visit China Year to Explore New Opportunities in AIGC and Film I

Beijing, September 17, 2025 — Abdullah Abdulrahman Almuheisen, a veteran Saudi Arabian film director and a key driver of the Saudi film industry; John Hughes, Hollywood visual effects and computer graphics pioneer and co-founder of Rhythm and Hues (R&H); Wang Changyu, Chairman of Salon Films Group; Dr. Chen Yongmei; Lu Lei, General Manager of Hong Kong Bauhinia Company; Han Ning, Director of Beijing Salon Company; and Ma Runsheng, National First-Class Director, visited China Year (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “China Year”). They were warmly received by Guo Yong, Founder and Chairman of China Year, together with the company’s senior management team and Ke Peibin, Head of Huawei’s Film & Creative Content Business. This cross-disciplinary and international dialogue fully highlighted China Year’s strong appeal in the global digital content and film technology sectors.

Abdullah Almuheisen is recognized as a pioneer in bringing Saudi cinema to the international stage. His works have won international awards, and he played a key role in establishing Saudi Arabia’s first art cinema. John Hughes, a world-renowned visual effects expert, has worked on several Academy Award-winning films, including Life of Pi and Babe. Representing the dual pillars of “cultural creativity” and “technological innovation,” their joint visit to China Year underscores their strong recognition of the company’s technological capabilities and development vision.

During the visit, China Year showcased its full-chain capabilities, ranging from 3D animation production, 3D asset library development, and digital content standardization, to large-model R&D, AIGC creative tools, virtual production, and digital human creation. The company’s advanced digital production system and continuous innovations were highly praised by the guests.

John Hughes noted that China Year’s exploration of AI integration with digital content is well aligned with global development trends, while Abdullah Almuheisen highlighted the important value of these practices for the digital transformation of the Saudi film industry.

Following the tour, the parties engaged in in-depth discussions on the application prospects of AIGC technology in the audiovisual industry, models for international cooperation, and opportunities to co-build industry platforms.

On the following day, accompanied by Chairman Guo Yong, the guests visited Minzu University of China and the Beijing AIGC Audiovisual Industry Innovation Center at Shouchuang Langyuan, further promoting in-depth integration of scientific research and university-enterprise collaboration.

The exchange not only connected China Year with resources from both Saudi Arabia and Hollywood but also reaffirmed its position as a representative enterprise in the integration of AIGC and digital content in China.
